Topics Covered: This course will introduce students to financial institutions and their important economic functions. The course will examine the structure and operation of financial institutions in the U.S., with particular attention paid to the various risks and complex challenges facing these institutions. While there are no easy solutions to the challenges and problems faced by financial institutions, we will cover these issues in depth, with the objective of developing a solid understanding of them.

Topics Covered: FIN 300 Financial Management is designed to familiarize students with the basic tools and concepts of finance, and to enable students to pursue additional courses in investments, corporate finance, capital markets and financial institutions. Financial Management topics included the time value of money, the valuation of riskless and risky assets, market efficiency, corporate investment decision making, capital structure decisions, and risk management.
